Roam States is an independent travel authority covering the best places to visit across all 50 US states. We publish deeply researched destination guides — not template filler scraped from booking sites.

How we research

• Primary sources first: National Park Service (nps.gov), state park systems, official attraction websites, and state tourism boards.
• Grounded research with citations: Each guide is fact-checked against current 2026 fees, hours, and access rules.
• Specific, useful answers: We focus on the questions travelers actually ask — parking, best season, sample itineraries — not generic listicles.
• Quality over quantity: Guides release in batches as research completes — we do not dump hundreds of thin pages at once.

Editorial standards

Every published guide includes a visible last-updated date, author attribution, outbound citations to primary sources, and internal links to related state hubs and nearby destinations. Guides below our quality threshold stay unpublished until they meet our standards (≥900 words, citations, unique intro).

Affiliate disclosure

Some pages include affiliate links for hotels, car rentals, tours, eSIMs, and travel insurance. These help fund research at no extra cost to readers. We only recommend services relevant to US travel planning.
