1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Roam States (roamstates.com), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this site.

2. What Roam States Provides

Roam States publishes destination guides and trip planning tools that are free to read. We also offer an optional paid subscription, Roam States Pro. Current plan details are on the My Trips page. Our free content includes:

• Travel guides for US destinations, including national parks, cities, and attractions
• Trip planning tools such as a road trip planner and park fee calculator
• Driving directions, distance estimates, and lodging suggestions

3. No Warranty; Use at Your Own Risk

Roam States content is provided "as is" for general information purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant:

• The accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any guide, fee, distance, or other information
• That park hours, entry fees, road conditions, or facilities match what we describe
• That third-party links (hotels, official park sites, etc.) remain valid or offer current information

Always verify critical details — such as park closures, entry requirements, road conditions, and weather — with official sources before you travel.

4. Affiliate Links

Roam States does not currently use affiliate links. If we add affiliate links in the future, we will disclose them on the pages where they appear.

5. User-Generated Content

If Roam States offers features that allow you to submit tips, reviews, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and moderate that content. You are responsible for ensuring your submissions do not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

6. Subscriptions, Cancellation and Refunds

If you create an account or subscribe to Roam States Pro, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

Roam States Pro is an optional paid subscription billed through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal (opened via "Manage billing" on My Trips).

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Roam States — including text, images (where we hold rights), design, and code — is owned by Roam States or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use (such as printing a guide for your own trip).

8. External Links

Roam States links to official park websites, tourism boards, maps, and other external resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party sites.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roam States and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site, including but not limited to travel delays, cancellations, injuries, or expenses incurred based on information found here.

10. Privacy

Your use of Roam States is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect and use information.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
